Resident Evil 2’s remake has an RTX Demo at Gamescom – Nvidia releases 4K60 PC gameplay

Nvidia has already announced that 21 games will support the company’s RTX technologies, showcasing an insane level of developer support for a new graphical technology, well beyond what we have seen for PhysX, DirectX 12 and even other graphical techniques and features at the time of their debut.

Today, we have been informed that Resident Evil 2’s planned remake was showcased at Gamescom with RTX features, with Digital Foundry’s John Linneman stating that the company were utilising Ray Traced reflections.

At this time it remains unknown whether or not this feature will make it into the final game when it launches on January 25th, or if the game will implement additional Nvidia RTX features like DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). Remember, Nvidia’s RTX technology isn’t just about Ray Tracing.

Nvidia has also released “EXCLUSIVE” PC gameplay for Resident Evil 2’s remake, showcasing steady 4K 60FPS gameplay. Nvidia did not include Resident Evil 2 in their RTX enabled games announcement, making it unclear whether or not the feature will make it into the final game. It is also possible that this feature was added to the game too recently to be included in Nvidia’s Geforce Gaming Celebration event.
