Seven minutes of 60 FPS Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla gameplay leaks onto the web

Earlier this week, 30 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay leaked onto the web, showcasing several areas of the game including combat, stealth and traversal sequences. Now, seven more minutes of gameplay has become available to view online, offering us clearer video and 60 FPS gameplay.

With this version of the game running at 60FPS, we must conclude that this footage comes from either Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s PC or next-generation console versions, as 60FPS gameplay is unlikely to be possible on today’s consoles.

The video below showcases Eivor’s fight with a boss character called Cordelia. It is clear here that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is continuing to utilise the fantastical elements of its immediate predecessors, Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Odyssey, continuing the franchise’s move away from its more historically authentic counterparts.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla takes the series to the Dark Ages, a time after the fall of the Roman Empire and before the dawn of the Medieval era. During this time, most major European powers were yet to establish themselves, creating a time which was filled with constant change and relatively little known history. The game will take place during the rise of King Alfred the Great of England, when Vikings had colonised much of the English countryside. It is here where players take control of Eivor, the leader of a Viking settlement.

Ubisoft is due to release more gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla this weekend at the company’s Ubisoft Forward event.
