Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been officially revealed

Square Enix has announced Shadow of the Tomb Raider, a sequel to the critically acclaimed Rise of the Tomb Raider.  The company has released a short teaser trailer for the title, revealing a South American setting and a series of what appears to be Aztec Temples, where a solar eclipse seems to be a significant plot point.

Unlike its predecessor, the game will release simultaneously on all platforms, including PC, Xbox One and PS4. The game will not be released on Nintendo’s Switch console, with no game from the modern series being ported to the platform so far.

The game will release later this year on September 14th, with a “full reveal” for the game taking place at April 27th, where more information about the game will be revealed. Fans of the series may be interested to know that a “puzzle” will be appearing on the Tomb Raider website on Monday at 9 AM PDT (4 PM GMT), which may reveal more about the game before its full unveiling.
