Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be announced tomorrow with a 2018 release date

Square Enix seems set to reveal Shadow of the Tomb Raider tomorrow, at 6 AM PDT, which translates to 1 PM GMT in the UK. The announcement comes from an official Tomb Raider website, which upon closer inspection reveals a lot of hidden information.

The publisher has already confirmed that a new Tomb Raider game will be revealed at a “major event in 2018” and that it  “won’t be very long between the official reveal and when you can play”, which means that the game was already expected to release before the end of 2018. Now, these suspicions have been confirmed, thanks to a hidden message in the code of Tomb Raider’s teaser website.

Thanks to this message, the name Shadow of the Tomb Raider has been confirmed, as well as the game’s planned release date of September 14th. Official Pre-orders for the title are also expected to start on April 27th.

Shadow of The Tomb Raider is the climatic finale of Lara’s origin story. Available September 14th. All pre-order incentives and SKUs will be revealed on April 27, 2018

This reveal comes on the same day as the release of the new Tomb Raider movies in Cinemas in the US, UK and Ireland, with a more widespread release over the coming days in locations across the world. This cinematic release makes this week the ideal opportunity to take advantage of the film’s marketing push, a film which is based on the modern video game series.
