Denuvo has been removed form TRIANGLE STRATEGY six months after launch

Square Enix has update TRIANGLE STRATEGY’s PC version to remove Denuvo’s anti-tamper technology from the game. This change comes six months after TRIANGLE STRATEGY’s launch in October 2022, and will be seen as good news by most PC gamers.

Denuvo is a controversial anti-tamper technology that is designed to prevent piracy of PC games, but has also been found to negatively affect the performance of some titles, and interfere with modding of games. Most conversations about Denuvo online involve PC gamers expressing their dislike of the anti-tamper technology, and often request developers to remove the technology from their games.

TRIANGLE STRATEGY is a tactics RPG that comes from the same development team as Octopath Traveller. The game utilises the same HD-2D graphics style as Octopath Traveller and is currently rated as “Very Positive” on Steam.

It is not uncommon for game developers to remove Denuvo from their games after launch, with Square Enix and Capcom removing the technology from most of their PC games around six months or a year after their games launch. With this action, they can protect the PC launches of their games with Denuvo’s anti-tamper technology, and later remove the technology to appease Denuvo’s strongest critics.
