STALKER 2 receives an “Cinematic Teaser” trailer

GSC Game World has released their first “Cinematic Teaser” trailer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2 (STALKER 2), a sequel to the developer’s hugely popular STALKER series, which currently contains three entries, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl and its sequels Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat.

STALKER 2, or rather the original STALKER 2, was announced back in 2010, with a scheduled release date in 2011, with plans to use a new multi-platform game engine that would be written by GSC. This project was eventually cancelled in 2012, bringing an end to the series, or so we thought.

As of May 2018, GSC Game World has revived their plans to develop a STALKER sequel, with the game’s official website suggesting a planned release on 2021. Now, GSC Game World has released a new “Cinematic Teaser” for the game, which unfortunately contains no gameplay.

Financial issues are what eventually took down GSC’ original STALKER 2 development plans, and at this time it is unknown whether or not the studio has received the backing of a publisher to bring their latest game to fruition. For the most part, this teaser trailer is designed to generate hype within the STALKER fanbase and perhaps attract publishers to the franchise.
