Stardew Valley’s Multiplayer update is coming to PC next month

Stardew Valley has quickly become a modern classic amongst PC and console gamers, offering similar gameplay to older Harvest Moon titles with a large string of updates that have continuously added new content to the game.

One of Stardew Valley’s most highly anticipated changes is the planned addition of a multiplayer mode, adding an extra social element to the game where friends and family can co-operate to create and develop their homesteads.

Eric Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley, has confirmed that the PC release of Stardew Valley’s Multiplayer mode will happen next month. While the discovery of unintended bugs could delay this, Barone states that the development team are “making good progress” in this regard.

Alongside the addition of Multiplayer, the next major Stardew Valley update will add new single-player story content to the title. This update will arrive first on PC (Windows, Mac and Linux), next on Nintendo Switch and later on both PS4 and Xbox One. The choice to bring this update to Switch before Xbox One and PS4 seems to indicate that the Switch has a larger playerbase or is driving more sales for the game.

For those who are concerned that this story/multiplayer update will come as paid-DLC, don’t, this update will be free on all platforms.
