Stardock Reveals Galactic Civilizations III: Retribution’s Release Date

In the company’s latest trailer for Galactic Civilizations III’s upcoming Retribution expansion, Stardock has revealed the game’s release date, as well as unravel some of the lore behind the latest entry into the Galactic Civilizations III story.

The expansion will release on February 21st, offering PC gamers two new factions within the game, a new story-driven campaign and several major overhauls to existing mechanics.

Now, hypergates will facilitate the ultra-fast transport of goods and units across vast empires, cargo ships will accelerate the development of colonies to boost each civilization’s potential and the discovery of precursor artefacts will give factions unique benefits that will aid in their efforts towards galactic conquest.

In the game’s campaign, the newly discovered Drengin Empire will attempt to challenge humanity in a war which will result in a climactic battle which will leave some of the species extinct. Outside of the campaign players will also be able to meet the game’s new Drath and Korath civilizations, who rely on manipulation/string-pulling and conquest and extermination respectively.

Galactic Civilization III’s Retribution Expansion will release on February 21st and will cost $19.99 on Steam upon the expansion’s release.
