The Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy is coming to PC on Steam

Activision has confirmed that they are bringing the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy to all major gaming platforms, releasing the title to PC (via Steam), Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

The game’s original release proved extremely popular on PS4, offering the first three titles in the series with remastered visuals while maintaining the same gameplay. Before 2018 the game has sold over 2 million copies worldwide, with its multiplatform release being expected to increase this sales number significantly.

Crash Bandicoot’s N.Sane Trilogy has also set Activision on a path where they will continue to remaster their classic titles, with Activision confirming that more remastered titles are coming later this year. Right now it is rumoured that a remake of Spyro is in the works for Q3 of this year, though these reports have not been confirmed.

One criticism that can be levied at this remaster is its 30FPS playback on PS4 and PS4 Pro, something which the original games had on PS1 and was upgraded to 60FPS for the game’s PS2 sequels. Let’s hope that PC players can work with an unlocked framerate here, as platform games look and feel a lot better at a smooth 60.

Alongside the game’s visual upgrades, the PC4 version of the title offers a new unified autosave system, new dialogue from the original voice cast and full analog stick support (the original predated the analog stick on PS1).

The Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy will release on Steam, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on July 10th.

Update – The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is now available to pre-order on Steam for £34.99.
