The Division 2 is coming to Stadia this month with PC cross-play

Ubisoft has confirmed that The Division 2 will arrive on Stadia later this month, arriving on the platform with both the base game’s content and the title’s Warlords of New York expansion.

The game will arrive on Stadia on March 17th, two weeks after the release of Warlords of New York on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, better still, the game’s Stadia version will be cross-compatible with the game’s PC version, ensuring that the game will have an active playerbase on launch day. To enable cross-play, Stadia users will need to link their Stadia accounts to their UPlay account, granting cross-progression between the game’s two versions.

The Division 2’s Warlords of New York Expansion will bring with it new gear, weapons and skills alongside a new level cap of 40. The game will also gain an “infinite” progression system and an overhauled endgame.

Ubisoft is wise to make the Stadia release of The Division 2 cross-compatible with the game’s PC version, as this ensures that Stadia users will find an active playerbase on their chosen platform. Stadia hasn’t proven to be widely popular yet amongst gamers, and limiting The Division 2 to Stadia alone would have proved disastrous for a large-scale multiplayer experience like The Division 2.
