THQ Nordic brings five Microsoft Games to Steam – All former Windows Store Exclusives

Back at Gamescom, THQ Nordic announced a deal with Microsoft that would see the publisher release five Windows/Microsoft Store exclusives onto Valve’s Steam platform, while also releasing physical versions of the games to retailers.

Now, this deal has borne fruit, bringing Disneyland Adventures, ReCore: Definitive Edition, Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure, Super Lucky’s Tale and Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection to Steam for the first time, which will come as great news for detractors of Microsoft’s gaming storefront.

It is worth noting that all of these games are Xbox Play Anywhere titles on the Microsoft Store, and are also available to subscribers of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, which is available for £7.99 per month or £79.99 per year. A 14-day free trial is also available for Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, which will allow you to play these game for free for a limited time.

The Steam releases of these former Windows 10/Microsoft Store exclusives will bring these titles to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users for the first time, significantly expanding their potential audience on PC.

So far, Microsoft has seemed unwilling to release many of their high profile first party titles outside of the Windows 10/Microsoft Store, including Gears of War 4, Sea of Thieves and the Forza series. However, other titles such as Halo Wars and Quantum Break have already been made available on Steam.
