Total War: Warhammer II – Rise of the Tomb Kings is coming in January
Across the arid wastes of once-proud Nehekhara, legions of skeletal warriors and vast, terrifying constructs rise from the sands to serve their ageless masters. The Tomb Kings have awoken â to rebuild their glorious empire anew!Â
The Tomb Kings origins originate with the empire of Nehekhara, a civilisation that predates the Empire of Man by several thousand years. In modern times this faction is a legion of the dead, with mummified kings being forced to rule for an eternity of unlife.
In Warhammer II’s Eye of the Vortex campaign, the faction is not interested in the Great Vortex of Ulthuan, with the race instead searching for the nine cursed books of Nagash, with the campaign ending with a climactic battle for the Black Pyramid of Nagash. Those who are familiar with the Necromancer Nagash will already know how significant he is to the lore of the Tomb Kings, though we will not delve any deeper into this right now.Â
The faction itself will come with four Legendary Lords to play as in the game’s campaign, each of which has unique quest chains, abilities, bonuses and start positions in Total War: Warhammer II’s campaigns. The Tomb Kings will offer more legendary Lords than any of Total War: Warhammer II’s other races at launch, with the faction also coming with unique Rites to perform in the campaign.Â
