Ubisoft has today released five new trailers for Far Cry 5, which brings players into the American west where the local area is controlled by the followers of a cult who is lead by a man known as “The Father”.
Players will work with the local resistance who are working to take back their land from their oppressors, shaping a story in ways that gamers will “never see coming”.

The game takes place in Hope County, Montana, where players will have a large open world to explore where there are allies and enemies around every corner. Far Cry 5 promises to be less linear that previous games, allowing players to traverse the world and tackle problems in whatever order they choose.

Joseph “The Father” Seed is the leader of the oppressive cult in Far Cry 5, believing that the end of the world is imminent and that a place called Eden’s Gate is the key to salvation. From here the Father became deluded, with voices telling him to save as many souls as possible, regardless of whether or not they wanted to be saved.

The player is stuck in Hope County, which is now under complete control of the cult. Outside help is not coming, so the remaining locals and the player will need to act to prevent the cult from further expanding their influence.

Below are three trailers which showcase just a few of the characters that players will meet in their journey.

Far Cry 5 is set to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on February 27th, 2018, with Ubisoft planning to showcase more of the game at E3 2017.
