Valorant gains AMD Anti-Lag 2 support with new update
Valorant now supports AMD’s lag-lowering technology
With their latest update to their competitive FPS Valorant, Riot Games has added support for AMD Anti-Lag 2. This technology is designed to lower input lag in GPU-limited gaming scenarios, making the game more responsive for users of compatible GPUs.
Until now, Valorant has only supported Nvidia’s Reflex technology. AMD Anti-Lag 2 is AMD’s competitor to Nvidia Reflex. Both technologies are designed to lower input latency, making PC games more responsive.
With this update, both AMD and Nvidia users now have access to an input latency-reducing technology. This effectively removes the competitive advantage Nvidia users have in Valorant. After all, lowered input latencies enable faster response times.
PERFORMANCE UPDATES
- Added support for AMD Anti-Lag 2, which reduces input latency in certain GPU-bound scenarios. In order to use AMD Anti-Lag 2, you need compatible hardware, with updated drivers from March 9th, 2026 or later.
Note that both AMD Anti-Lag 2 and Nvidia Reflex are most effective in GPU-limited gaming environments. If Valorant is already CPU-limited on your PC, the impact of AMD Anti-Lag 2 will be minimal. However, if your PC is GPU-limited, the impact on latencies can be significant. This means the impact of AMD Anti-Lag 2 will vary from system to system. Radeon GPU users are also expected to use GPU drivers from May 9th 2026, or newer, to use AMD Anti-Lag 2.
