Wild West Online will release on Steam Early Access on May 10th

612 Studios has officially revealed their Steam Early Access release date for Wild West Online (WWO), an open-world Wild West-Themed MMO that is built exclusively for PC.

While an early beta build of the game is available as a standalone game client, the title’s Steam version will release alongside new content for WWO on May 10th, adding rival factions to the world, public PVP events, more PVE quests and missions from NPC characters. The game’s mining, farming, hunting, cooking and brewing mechanics will also be updated, adding new ways to earn money and generate resources within the game.

Users of the dedicated WWO client will receive access to the title’s Steam Early Access content two days earlier than Steam users on may 8th, with all early players receiving a Steam version of the game to play.

In Wild West Online, players will be able to choose their path, be it as a prospector, criminal, deputies or bounty hunters, giving users the freedom to live however they like within the game world. Players can also become members of bandit clans to claim contested areas of the map or recruit other players to fight alongside them.

How you play the game and how you interact with other players is up to you! WWO’s diverse dynamic gameplay systems accommodate a variety of different play styles and moral dispositions.

Want to be a prospector and mine for gold? Mine away! But be ready to fend off those who would rather let you do all the hard work then try to steal your riches. Of course, if you’re a little wet behind the ears in a gunfight, you could always hire a hardened gunslinger to protect you.

Do you want to lie, cheat, rob, murder and carouse your way across the West. You bet you do, outlaw! But watch your back, some players will choose to stay on the right side of the law and become Deputies and Bounty Hunters. These frontier lawmen (and women) are charged with hunting you down and bringing you in — dead or alive.

612 has also released some preliminary PC system requirements for Wild West Online, which will require a 64-bit OS, a minimum of a quad-core CPU and a DirectX 11 GPU with at least 2GB of VRAM. These requirements have not changed since June 2017, so it is likely that these requirements will be updated before the game’s launch on Steam.
