Windows 10 finally exceeds 50% market share on Steam’s Hardware survey

Today Valve has released their Steam Hardware survey for March 2017, where Windows 10 has exceeded 50% market share. This makes Microsoft’s new OS more popular than all other operating systems on Steam combined, with 50.15% of people using the 64-bit version and a further 1.05% using the 32-bit version.

Strangely, when it comes to CPU market share AMD has seen a drop in market share from 21.8% to 20.3%, which is a strange change given AMD’s release of their new Ryzen CPU architecture. It may take some additional time for AMD’s newest CPU to make a noteworthy impact on Steam’s hardware Survey, as it has only been a month since it’s initial launch and AMD’s more affordable Ryzen 5 series of CPUs are yet to be released.
