Yakuza Kiwami 2 is coming to PC next month

Sega has announced that Yakuza Kiwami 2 will be coming to PC next month with a launch date of May 9th on Steam. The PC version of Yakuza Kiwami 2 will feature support for 4K resolutions, unlocked framerates and that Sega claims to be “robust graphics options”. 
 
Unlike Sega’s previous PC Yakuza games, Kiwami 2 is the first PS4 only entry in the series to make it to the PC platform, making it the most demanding Yakuza game to transition to PC to date. Both Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami were available on both PS3 and PS4, with Kiwami 2 launching as a PS4 exclusive with visuals which wouldn’t have been possible on older console platforms. 

     When a single gunshot takes out the Fifth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, Kazuma Kiryu must journey to Sotenbori, Osaka, to broker peace between rivalling clans. Kiryu is pulled back into the life he desperately wanted to leave as he faces the ambitious Ryuji Goda, the Dragon of Kansai, who will stop at nothing to get his war. On PlayStation 4, Yakuza Kiwami 2 ran with a target framerate of 60FPS during gameplay and with a framerate cap of 50FPS during cutscenes. With this in mind, Yakuza Kiwami 2’s PC system requirements seem overly high for the title, especially given Sega’s resolution/framerate targets. These high requirements could be due to the demanding nature of the game’s cutscenes.
