You will need a “high-spec PC” to run Final Fantasy 16 – PC Demo planned

Final Fantasy 16’s minimum PC requirements should deliver a “similar” experience to PS5

Final Fantasy 16 is coming to PC, and Square Enix are currently optimising the game for the platform. Naoki Yoshida, the game’s producer, has stated that development is “going smoother than we thought it would”. This suggests that the game’s PC version is almost finished.

Square Enix has confirmed that the game’s PC version will feature the customisation settings that “players have come to expect from PC”. The game should also release on PC with its DLC content included, which is a nice perk.

Below is what Naoki Yoshida had to say about Final Fantasy XVI’s PC version to Destructoid.

We want to have no breaks in the game, we want everything to be seamless. And so, to replicate that is the thing that we’re working on right now. And so to replicate that on PC, you’re going to need a pretty high-spec PC. So right now, what we’re doing is we’re testing the game, and our current optimization, on a lot of different systems to see, again, what are going to be those minimum specs for playing the game in a way that is similar to the PS5 experience.

PC gamers will need a “high-spec” system to run Final Fantasy XVI. The game’s minimum system requirements should deliver a “similar to PS5 experience”. That means that this game will need a PS5-like CPU/GPU combination play well on PC.

As we have previously reported, Final Fantasy 16 will have a free PC demo. This will allow PC gamers to check if their systems capable of running the newest Final Fantasy game.

With the game being PlayStation 5 exclusive, PC gamers should expect this game to only run on relatively modern gaming PCs. SSD storage will likely be a must, and the game will likely require high-end GPUs to run at high resolutions/framerates. Remember, this game targets 30 FPS on PS5. Yes, the game has a “Performance Mode” on PS5, but this mode is low res and does not deliver a stable 60 FPS. Not even close! As such, PC gamers will need a powerful system for high resolution/framerate gameplay.
