Micron expands its SSD portfolio with their new Crucial P310 2280

Crucial launches a new M.2 2280-sized version of their P310 PCIe 4.0 SSD

Micron has expanded its portfolio of M.2 NVMe SSDs with a new 2280-sized model of their popular Crucial P310 drive. We reviewed the 2230-sized model of the P310 earlier this year, and we found it to be a great SSD option for anyone needing an SSD of that size. Now, thanks to the release of this drive’s 2280 version, the P310 is now easy to integrate into most modern gaming PCs. It even supports Sony’s PlayStation 5 console.

The 2280 version of the P310 boasts identical speeds to its 2230 counterpart. It boasts read speeds of 7,100 MB/s and write speeds of 6,000 MB/s, making it 40% faster than the P3 Plus SSD it replaces. This drive is available in 500Gb, 1TB, and 2TB forms. Additionally, this drive boasts read/write IOPS performance of 1.0 million and 1.2 million, respectively.

Micron claims that their new P310 SSD is up to 20% faster than other PCIe Gen4 SSDs in real-world tasks like booting Windows, starting applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and loading games. For this comparison, Micron compares their Crucial P310 SSD to Samsung’s 990 EVO and Western Digital’s WD SN580.

Crucial’s new M.2 2280-sized P310 SSD is now available through various retailers.
