MSI maximises PCIe 5.0 SSD performance with its SPATIUM M571
MSI’s pushing the limits of PCIe 5.0 using Phison’s new E28 SSD controller
We’ve visited MSI’s booth at Computex 2025, and my goodness, they were busy. To say the least, MSI has showcased a ton of new products, and there is a lot of interest. MSI, if you are listening, you need a bigger booth! That said, let’s start our MSI coverage with something fast, and I mean FAST, the MSI SPATIUM M571.
MSI is pushing the limits of PCIe 5.0 SSD performance with its new SPATIUM M571 SSD. Using Phison’s new E28 SSD controller, MSI has reduced the power consumption of their new drive while running into the bandwidth limits of the PCIe 5.0 interface. With this new drive, MSI can deliver sequential read speeds of 14,800 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 14,000 MB/s. That’s crazy fast, so much so that we won’t be able to get much quicker before the move to PCIe 6.0.
The new SPATIUM M571 will be available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB forms. The drive uses a TSMC 6nm controller, which allows this drive to operate with 20% less power draw. This change will make the M571 run cooler than existing MSI PCIe 5.0 SSDs. That’s great news for heavy users, as you won’t need to use this SSD with a massive heatsink.
This new SSD from MSI will become available later this year. Alongside it, MSI has also showcased new Vortiq series enterprise SSD models. This includes new SATA drives, E1.S drives, U.2 drives, and E3.S drives. MSI has an SSD for you, no matter what form factor you use.
