Seagate has updated their FireCuda 530 series SSDs to deliver boosted performance though DirectStorage

Seagate have released a new firmware update for their FireCuda 530 series of PCIe 4.0 SSDs, optimising the drive for DirectStorage workloads, enabling increased performance in supported software. 

DirectStorage was released by Microsoft to allow software developers to make better use of fast solid state storage mediums, enabling fast software loading times, decreased CPU overhead for storage workloads, and reduced I/O latencies. With their new firmware, Seagate is optimising their FireCuda 530 series for DirectStorage workloads, giving their users a free performance upgrade.

Currently, not many games currently support DirectStorage, though the software’s popularity is expected to increase significantly over the next few years.
