Microsoft will let gamers go “hands-on” with the ROG Xbox Ally at Gamescom

Microsoft and ASUS will let gamers go hands-on with the ROG Xbox Ally at Gamescom 2025

Microsoft has confirmed that its ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X will be on show at Gamescom 2025. Both Xbox and ASUS will be letting gamers go hands-on with these devices at their respective Gamescom booths, allowing gamers to try out a variety of games.

At the Xbox booth, gamers will be able to try out Hollow Knight: Silksong, Roblox, Sea of Thieves, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. More games will be playable at the ASUS ROG booth.

ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X – our two new handhelds crafted in collaboration with ASUS that combine the power of Xbox with the freedom you expect from Windows. Players can go hands-on with games including Hollow Knight: Silksong, Roblox, Sea of Thieves, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, with additional hands-on experiences with more games available at the ASUS ROG booth.

Xbox at Gamescom

Hopefully, Microsoft also plans to showcase how it plans to make Windows a stronger OS for PC gamers. Microsoft has unveiled the “Xbox Full Screen Experience“, but it has not discussed exactly how this feature will impact PC gamers without ROG Ally series devices.

Microsoft expects its “Xbox Full Screen Experience” to significantly reduce idle power draw and save up to 2GB of RAM. For ROG Xbox Ally devices, idle power draw reportedly drops by two-thirds. Furthermore, these freed-up system resources can be used to boost gaming performance, enabling a better gaming experience.

We expect to hear a lot about the ROG Xbox Ally at Gamescom. The event will be hosted between August 20th and 24th in Cologne, Germany. You can expect us to cover news from the event as it happens.
