Roccat Renga Headset Review

Roccat Renga Headset Review

Introduction

Headsets come in a variety of types and prices, with everything available from some extremely cheap models all the way up to headphones which would be at home plugged into an Ultrasound amplifier.

For many of us though our requirements are quite modest. We want a headset which is affordable, puts out some decent audio, is comfortable enough to wear for long gaming sessions but robust enough to tolerate throwing in our bag.

Thanks to their Kave headset Roccat have sat close to the top of our favourite headphones for a long while now. All the various iterations, from the original surround pair all the way through to the latest XTD setup, have pumped out some very pleasing audio. Their downside is very much weight and price though and that has lead to Roccat seeking to fill out their range with the Renga – a headset which provides the quality you’ve come to expect from Roccat but in a package that is available to those even on the tightest of budgets.

Technical Specifications

The specifications of the Renga match a very common theme amongst gaming headsets. We have 50mm drivers which support 20Hz-20kHz. 32 Ohm impedance to ensure compatibility with the largest amount of audio sources, and a weight which is low enough to make the Renga easily portable without being so low that they feel as if they’re made out of the worlds cheapest plastic.
