Cooler Master’s best performing PC case to date
When we saw this PC case at Computex 2026, we knew that Cooler Master was taking airflow seriously with this new case design. Not only were they using larger 220mm fans, but they were also using premium Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) materials and making them extra thick at 40mm. Looking deeper, we saw more design elements that were focused on airflow. This includes design elements that direct airflow where it is needed most, ensuring that this case wasn’t relying on brute force airflow alone. After all, it isn’t just size that matters.
Thermally, this is one of the best-performing cases that we have ever used. We tested this case with its fans running at 600 RPM, 800 RPM, and 1,100 RPM, and it consistently delivers excellent CPU and GPU cooling. If you want strong airflow, the Cooler Master HAF II 500 is an excellent PC case. When it comes to airflow, it has few competitors.
One case that we must mention here is the Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition, a case that costs twice as much as the HAF II 500 and has twice as many fans. Yes, these fans are smaller, but at double the price, it doesn’t offer better performance. Cooler Master’s engineers understood their assignment when they were tasked with creating a new HAF (High Air Flow) PC case.
Overall, I am also impressed with some of the HAF II 500’s other design elements. Its Velcro cable ties are cleverly designed, making cable management much easier and hassle-free. Small elements like these make this case feel well considered. Cooler Master did not just use HUGE fans and call it a day. They created something that’s easy to build in and delivers excellent thermal performance.
An excellent performer that’s less flashy than prior HAF cases
While it has less flash than prior HAF cases, the Cooler Master HAF II 500 truly lives up to its “High Air Flow” branding. It lacks RGB lighting, something that has been common with most HAF series cases. That said, does this case need to draw attention to itself when its thermal results are this good? As much as some people would love big 220mm RGB illuminated fans, doing so would move away from LCP materials, impacting their performance. Furthermore, with this case coming with an RGB controller, who’s to say that a premium RGB-clad version isn’t on the horizon?
As it stands, the Cooler Master HAF II 500 is an excellent PC case. Its thermal performance speaks for itself, and Cooler Master’s engineers should be proud of what they have achieved. A combination of strong fan design and strong case design has made the HAF II 500 a truly excellent PC case. If you want strong airflow, this case should be on your shortlist.
