be quiet Pure Loop 3 LX CPU Cooler Review

Conclusion

Conclusion – Is the be quiet Pure Loop 3 LX a good CPU cooler?

The be quiet Pure Loop 3 LX is quintessentially be quiet! Under most operating conditions, this cooler is remarkably quiet, and it offers users customisability without going overboard with LCDs, software, and other add-ons.

Performance-wise, this cooler performs remarkably well, given its price. This is especially true at low fan speeds, making this cooler a great pick if you value silence. If RGB isn’t your thing, be quiet has a more affordable version called the Pure Loop 3 (non-LX), which offers even better value for money (assuming you don’t value RGB lighting).

With its replaceable illumination plates, be quiet’s Pure Loop 3 LX series offers PC builders customisability without added software bloat. Out of the box, this cooler ships with ten plates that can be easily switched out. Modders may be able to create custom plates, enabling a greater level of customisability, all without software. It’s a simple yet effective solution.

When it comes to all-in-one liquid cooling solutions, £120 isn’t a high asking price for the Pure Loop 3 LX. It performs well, has great lighting/customisation options, and excels in situations where users want low fan speeds and noise levels.

If you want negatives, there are some, but none of them are deal-breaking. Thermally, this cooler performs similarly to be quiet’s more expensive Light Loop 360. That’s a good thing. However, it is worth noting that the Pure Loop 3 series doesn’t include offset mounts for AMD’s AM5 CPU socket. This offset mount can deliver lower thermals with AMD’s current-generation Ryzen desktop CPUs. If you want better thermals with Ryzen CPUs, the be quiet Light Loop 360 is worth considering.

Another thing that’s worth noting is that this heatsink doesn’t have pre-applied thermal paste or pre-installed fans. This makes the installation process for this cooler a little longer and more involved than some other coolers. This is forgivable for a CPU cooler that’s this affordable. That said, it is worth noting that some competing solutions have a better/faster installation process.

Overall, the Pure Loop 3 LX is a great CPU cooling solution from be quiet. It’s a solid performer, and it’s well-priced. For that reason, this CPU cooler deserves OC3D’s Value for Money award.
