What’s the difference between the MA620P and the MA621P?
The analysts amongst you will be wondering why only a single cooler has been pictured in this preview, well the answer is simple, the MA620P and the MA621P offer the same basic design, but both support different CPU sockets.
Cooler Master’s MA620P is what can be referred to as the “standard edition” of the MA62xP heatsink design, offering support for a multitude of CPU sockets, including AMD’s AM4, AM3, AM2, FM2 and FM1 sockets and Intel’s LGA 2066, 2033, 1366, 1156, 1155, 1151, 1150 and 775 sockets. This list pretty much covers every socket on the market, except for AMD’s high-end AM4 socket.
This gap is where the MA621P comes in, Cooler Master’s Threadripper edition which has been adapted to suit AMD’s colossal TR4 socket, covering all active CPU dies to provide optimal cooling performance. This version is not compatible with any other socket type, aside from AMD EPYC which utilised the same mounting mechanism.
