EK Nucleus CR240 Lux White RGB Review

Let's have a gander at EK's Nucleus CR240 Lux White RGB liquid cooler

One of the first things that we will note about EK's White Nucleus CR240 Lux is that the plate on the side of their radiator is silver, not white. This has become a common trend amongst manufacturers of white components, and it is something that we have mixed feelings about. This part being silver takes away from the fact that this heatsink is a white edition product, but at the same time it does prevent the design from being too monotone.

Like this heatsink's black 360mm counterpart, this silver side plate can be removed by removing a few screws, allowing owners to paint this plate, engrave it, cover it in vinyl, or replace it entirely. If you are creative, you can make your AIO something that is unique to your system, or simply paint it white to match the rest of the AIO.

The end plate of EK's Nucleus CR240 AIO is plastic, and EK has done a great job making sure that all of the white parts of this AIO liquid cooler match perfectly, be it the powder coated and painted radiator components, or the AIO's plastic components and braided tubing.

The cold plate of EK's Nucleus White Edition AIOs look great, both when unlit and when the cooler's RGB lighting is enabled. The AIO's cables are also white, matching in nicely with unit.

One of the things that we like about EK's CR240 Lux White AIO is the unit's supplied fans. They all two 8-pin connectors at their side which are used for power delivery and D-RGB lighting control. With these cables, EK's two CR240 Lux fans can be daisy chained and controller by a single cable that goes out the back of your case.

If you have used a lot of AIO liquid coolers with RGB fans, you will know that separate fan and RGB connectors can quickly turn your PC into cable spaghetti junction. With EK's Nucleus AIOs, you only get two cables out the back of your system if you daisy chain your fans. EK's black cable daisy chain cables can also be hidden with ease if you correctly orient your PC's fans.

I like the white cable addition unlike some other companies, when my current 1 needs a change I'd like the 360 one in whiteQuote

Very pretty. And a good price too. People really don't need sideways screens in their AIOs.Quote
