SilverStone Raven RV05 Review

Introduction

In the same way that over the years Russian leaders have alternated between bald and hairy, has anyone else noticed how the Motherboard is placed alternately on the left then right hand side in successive Silverstone Raven cases?  We’re not saying this is significant in any way, but we’re already wondering as much about Putin’s successor as we are about the RV06, which if the mere blink of an eye since we reviewed the RV04 is anything to go by shouldn’t be too long a wait.  So political follicle significances aside, what’s new in the RV05?  Well as you might have guessed the motherboard is on the Right hand side for a start, and gone are a great many of the annoying plastic fittings that irked us so much about the RV04.  Silverstone have also done away with 5.25″ bays replacing them instead with a very low profile slim line optical bay should the grip of spinning silver platters grab you.  There are of course many more things to tell about the RV05, To find out, you’re just going to have to make a cuppa, get comfy and read the review.  For now though, let’s get things kicked off with the Technical Specification.
