Overclocking

Both the E and the F managed the same 5.1GHz overclock but with the initial test BIOS we struggled to get 3866MHz memory running so we settled for 3600MHz and this was our settings for the OC tests.

ASUS Strix Z270E and Z270F

New 0701 BIOS.

In typical fashion the day after all tests were complete Asus sent us the 0701 BIOS. Now we didnt have time to spend another day retesting but we did pop the board back in to see what overclocking differences it had to offer. Not only did it breeze 3866MHz it actually delivered our first glimpse of 4000MHz memory! Yes thats right we had RAM running at 4GHz. Go tell your Q6600 its time to retire. If you are lucky enough to buy one of these boards close to the launch date make checking and updating your BIOS a priority.
