Despite the 7nm manufacturing process the Ryzen 9 3900X is still a 12 core behemoth and once you start pushing 4.4 GHz through every core and running them flat out there is going to be some heat generated. Fortunately the days of AMD CPUs getting up towards the 90°C mark are behind us, and either a slightly more cautious overclock or even some meatier cooling will happily tame those temperatures, as you can see from the stock – which is still damn quick – temps.
