Test Setup

We know that we’re asking a lot of the Aorus Pro ITX board by fitting it with the Ryzen 9 3900X, but not only might this spring some performance surprises but it also has the twofold benefit of letting us compare it to the other X570 motherboards we’ve reviewed whilst also look at the compact design in its worst case scenario. We can’t imagine anyone looking at this will plump for the 12 core beast, but it’s fun to discover if the Gigabyte motherboard can handle it.

Overclocking

If there was any thought that the sole 8 pin CPU 12V input might limit the performance possibilities of the Gigabyte ITX Aorus Pro then they are quickly dispelled with a very impressive overclock. 4.34 GHz across all twelve cores from such a compact motherboard is not to be sniffed at, and actually it ends up in the middle of the X570 pack.
