This could be a game-changing idea if we understand it correctly and, perhaps more importantly, if it works how Gigabyte claim. To be able to have a sweet spot where PBO is used in those undemanding applications, but your Ryzen can be taken to the ragged edge when you need to make the most of every last drop of performance, without needing to faff about behind the scenes every two minutes sounds like a godsend.

Whilst we all love a good overclock for the majority of your time all you’re doing is using up power and generating heat unnecessarily. This Active OC Tuner promises to be the best of both worlds and looks extremely easy to setup. We’ll be testing this soon, so we don’t want to start prostrating ourselves at its feet just yet, but theoretically this is one of those ideas, like the MSI OC Genie or ASUS AI Overclocking, that will be finding itself copied by everyone if it does what it claims. We’re very excited.
