Overclocking

The efforts involved in the upgraded design of the Z390 Aorus Pro bear fruit with our Core i9-9900K processor, pushing all eight cores all the way up to 5 GHz @ 1.33V. There is still some small issues with the loadline calibration formula as it always seemed to give us too much or too little, but this is something that can be fixed with some BIOS upgrades in the future. It’s not a deal-breaker at all, rather it’s something that needs refining to unleash the full potential of the Aorus Pro.

One part that definitely shows the improvements that Gigabyte’s design team have found is in the VRM cooling, with the maximum temperature we managed to obtain even with this overclock in place was 54°C. A significant improvement upon earlier designs and something that Gigabyte deserve all the plaudits for fixing.
