Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Master Preview
Up Close – Packaging and Contents
That screaming eagle design – or whatever it is – has become so familiar so quickly it is a testament to the quality of the Aorus range of products. Kudos to Gigabyte for nailing it so far.
We might be too old so that we don’t put these stickers on our cases or bedroom doors these days, but our laptop might have a some on it. Don’t judge us. At least modern, medium to high end, motherboard boxes have finally stepped away from just dumping all the cables in the box and hoping for the best. We like a little cardboard box of “what is it what is it… it’s a SATA cable!” when enjoying our new purchase and boring our significant others with the trinkets contained within.
SATA cables, four, black. We’ve got draws full of these things. We reckon if Amazon’s servers ever go down we could re-cable them all without buying anything. However, it never hurts to enjoy fresh cables in your new build, so we’re always pleased to find them in a box.
As our cases get bigger so does the need to extend our RGB LED Strip cables to get them positioned properly. Especially as most RGB lighting kits come with cables about an inch long, like copper is the most valuable metal on Earth.
Being able to monitor temperature hot spots more directly is always a nice thing to have, particularly as you start pushing the limits, and so getting the cables in the box is nice.
Lastly the WiFi antenna, whose design will be familiar to anyone who has been checking out all our Z490 content. It’s now the accepted design format for this particular attachment.
