The Aorus screaming eagle, or whatever it is, is now as famous as many box art designs we’ve seen over the years, and the Aorus Master continues the fine trend by being easy to recognise at a glance as well as having all the important information clearly marked on the back.

The Aorus comes with a very well designed manual. We’ve lost count of the number of manuals that don’t bother to give comprehensive error codes or all the stuff you actually need. Nobody wants twenty pages on how to install a drive, but when it’s all gone wrong we’d love to know what the 5B POST error is. Thankfully Gigabyte supply the answers, along with a case badge and sticker set.

Apart from the above, and the SATA cables that you really don’t need to see by now, the Aorus Master has an M.2 screw package, RGB extension cable, noise detection cable, a “G” connector – us neither – and their new antenna design which is capable of being positioned at all manner of angles.

We haven’t got any official Z590 block diagrams on hand yet, but we do have a manual and manuals have block diagrams. So if this is the sort of under-the-hood thing that interests you then here you go. Worth noting is that the PCIe 4.0 support is CPU based.

We’ll be looking at this in more detail on the next page, but it’s nice to get an overview. We’re very keen on the clear Aorus branding, particularly as we’ve not long seen the headache inducing Strix-E logo.

The NanoCarbon backplate is here in full effect, and it’s nice to see Gigabyte have given us plenty of room to attach our cooler baseplate. It sticks enough off the motherboard that you won’t be able to route any cables beneath your motherboard, but you shouldn’t really be doing that anyway. We know some do though, so it’s something of which to be aware.
