We love the subtle gold of the MSI MEG range. Too often gold is gaudy. MSI use just enough to let you know this is special, but not so much you feel like a Saudi prince.

We still find it funny that you can have the kind of hardware setup that forms the dreams of others just arrive in a box. Insane motherboard, check. Latest Intel CPU, check. Triple AIO, check. Speedy Kingston Fury DDR5 kit, check. Imagine opening this on Christmas morning. Blimey Charlie. We’d probably have died there and then.

The giant battery warning wasn’t unique to the AMD X870 motherboards we recently reviewed. Still the MSI MEG Z890 Ace shows off its placement in the MSI range – MEG usually equals gold – as well as a shout out to the new Intel Ultra CPUs.

If you’ve ever wished for a hands-off CPU installation tool, this fits the bit. Drop it in, squeeze the levers, jobs a good ‘un. It might a way to use a lower viscosity thermal paste without getting it all over yourself.
