MSI Z270 Gaming M7 Review

MSI Z270 Gaming M7 Review
Introduction

We’ve reviewed a couple of the Z270 motherboards from MSI. We first looked at the Gaming Carbon, a full size board which was pretty good if unspectacular. That was a followed up by their Gaming Carbon AC, an ITX motherboard which had performance far beyond that you might have expected from a smaller form factor. So far then things are looking good for MSI in the current generation.

Up for review today we have the MSI Z270 Gaming M7. A motherboard that sits near the top of the MSI range and promises to bring great aesthetics to the excellent performance and overclocking capabilities we’ve seen from the Z270 range. With the addition of more M.2 sockets than we’ve found on even the eye-wateringly expensive models on the market, the M7 should bring something for everyone. Let’s find out.

Technical Specifications

If you’ve been following our Z270 motherboard reviews then you’ll know how much technology is now packed onto the latest Intel Chipset by default. Whereas once upon a time we were largely reliant upon the manufacturers to install various extra chips to give us plenty of connectivity options, now it’s all standard equipment. The M7 doesn’t really shake this mould up too much with a raft of features we’re, by now, used to seeing in our specifications table. We like the three M.2 slots though, one more than normal.
