If you call a motherboard “Godlike” then you must have some pretty firm beliefs in how great your product is. It takes a lot of chutzpah to go for something so braggartly after all.

Then you open the box and discover that MSI have given us a choice of three different IO shield designs, and this is the first clue that the design and packaging, at the very least, live up to the Godlike name. Sure, you almost never see your IO shield and when you do it’s covered in cables, but the fact that MSI can put this much detail into something you wont appreciate means that they’ve put the right amount of thought into the bits that really matter too.

Just take a look at the quality of the accessories. We’ve lost count of the amount of regulation SATA cables we’ve got kicking around, but with the MSI Z370 Godlike Gaming you get fully braided models in two different shades. Attention to detail is king. We’re impressed and we haven’t even got into the USB daughter board, the M.2 expansion card – taking total M.2 support up to a whopping 5 drives – with two slots, and the lighting and monitoring additions. It’s a bulging package to be sure.
