Usually at this point we’d be showing you our overclocking results. Unfortunately whilst the N7 has got overclocking in the BIOS it is in a form which we are absolutely not keen at all on utilising on our glorious Core i7-8700K. The multiplier seems to be tied into the CPU VCore so that any changes are wholesale ones more akin to the old automatic overclocking options that fried so many chips in the old days rather than something which gives you infinite control to maximise performance whilst minimising heat and power draw. If ever you want to know the downside of using an OEM as your motherboard factory and draping your own elements on top, then this is a clear indication of the pitfalls of that system, whilst also clearly showing why the major manufacturers design their own motherboards.
