There is no denying that if you’re the type of person who wants their card to last a lifetime, or at least until your next upgrade, then the Strix build quality should easily suffice. With a backplate to keep the card sturdy, high quality power components to make certain that even the most hardcore overclockers don’t run out of power, a further frame to increase rigidity and the DirectCU cooler, it has all you could hope to find on any card at all, much less one just a shade over £300.

  

The Turing TU116 GPU might not be the most power hungry model in Nvidia’s Turing range, but that hasn’t stopped ASUS from giving it the beans with SAP II hardware throughout the 6+2 power phases. If you’ve ever endured a graphics card that squealed then the silence you get from the Super Alloy Power phases alone will be worth the price premium of the Strix.

  

An unexpected extra bit of quality here. The RTX 2060 didn’t have the high-end Axial fans on its cooler, but the GTX 1660Ti does. Certainly, ASUS has thrown the kitchen sink at the card to ensure it is deserving of the ROG Strix brand.
