1440p Performance – DLSS and Raytracing

At 1440p, Nvidia’s RTX 2080 Ti was unable to keep Control at over 60FPS when using the game’s High preset (without Raytracing). It is clear that Control is a demanding game, but thankfully, DLSS is able to claw back a lot of performance.

With DLSS set to 960p, Control can be played with an average framerate of over 60FPS when ray tracing is turned to high. Minimum framerates will also be higher than 60FPS is the game is set to DLSS (960p) when raytracing is set to medium. Achieving a solid 60FPS is difficult in Control, making G-Sync and FreeSync compatible displays seem extremely appealing for this title.

1440p with DLSS set to 960p and raytracing set to high will offer gamers a stable 30FPS gaming experience. While mouse/keyboard will feel awkward in this kind of setup, it should pair well with a gamepad for a more console-like experience.
