MSI MPG27C Curved 144Hz Gaming Monitor Review
Up Close
As you might imagine for a curved 27″ display the box for the Optix MPG27C is huge. The headline feature is definitely the RGB bar below the display itself, something which promises to combine with the supplied software and your favourite titles to give you ‘at a glance’ feedback about the game world you’re inhabiting and your current performance. The gentle curve to the display works well in tandem with the attractive and flexible stand to give a monitor which certainly looks the part sat on your desk.
The rear of the display is obviously something you’ll see significantly less of, but perhaps the detailing is designed around advertising the MPG27C at eSports events more than anything else. However, if you do happen to have the Optix in a place where the rear is easily viewable then you’ll be pleased to know there has been a lot of effort expended into those details that make all the aesthetic difference.
The curve is surprisingly effective at reducing reflections and helping the MPG27C fill your vision. Of course 27 inches should fill your vision unless you place it at the other end of the room, but if you can afford to run triple displays then it really will be akin to VR that doesn’t make you sick.
