MSI RX 5700 XT Evoke Review
Introduction
The Radeon Navi GPU has been a huge success for AMD, bringing huge performance at the most popular resolutions in the latest titles. So far we’ve looked at everything from the AMD reference design model up to the PowerColor Red Devil.
Our experience of the RX 5700 XT has been one that has been slightly different to older architecture, as it seems to have a level of performance that was almost at its peak in the AMD reference card and doesn’t quite benefit from the bells and whistles that the partner cards bring to the table. As performance is unquestionably the most important element of any graphics card and, as far as we can tell, spending more money on a premium offering doesn’t seem to bring the same rewards it does on different GPUs, it makes perfect sense for MSI to design the Evoke in the way that they have.
Rather than focus upon flash and flair such as they do with their Lightning cards the Evoke is all about taking a minimalist approach. We have two PWM TORX 3.0 fans that support the MSI ZeroFrozr speed technology when the temperatures are low enough, as well as a smooth two slot design. The colour choice is somewhat odd being champagne rather than silver, but we’ll look at that in more detail on the next page.
