MSI RX 5700 XT Evoke Review

Test Setup

As with any of our testing we always want to be able to compare results as like for like as possible. For the RX 5700 XT that means testing on our current GPU rig which doesn’t utilise PCI Express 4.0. However, given the performance of these new Radeon cards we don’t think the already fat PCI Express 3.0 bandwidth particularly influences the results in a negative manner.

Overclocking

With the reference AMD card coming with a fairly hefty factory overclock and the other RX 5700 XT models we’ve looked at being extreme examples of the breed the MSI Evoke has the lowest stock clock setting and doesn’t really overclock that hard either. We think with the temperatures as they are the cooler is perhaps a little lacking in oomph and that might affect the performance. Only one way to find out..
