MSI RX 480 and GTX 1060 Gaming X Review

MSI RX 480 and GTX 1060 Gaming X Review

With performance being closely matched it’s only in the power and temperature graphs that there is a clear difference. The RX 480 has much better efficiency and thermals than the Radeon models of recent times, but it’s still a more demanding card than the GTX 1060 and, as we all know from our Physics lessons, that energy creates heat which has to be dispersed and thus the RX 480 Gaming X runs a little warmer than its Nvidia brother. This also makes the TF6 cooler have to work that little bit harder to keep the AMD below its 75c temperature target making it noticeably louder.
