MSI RX 480 and GTX 1060 Gaming X Review

MSI RX 480 and GTX 1060 Gaming X Review

Up Close

We could almost make a competition out of a spot the difference, such is near-identical looks of both the GTX 1060 and RX 480 Gaming X cards and coolers. Both have the latest Twin Frozr VI cooler which sports two fans with a lot of blades for good airflow, red lights surrounding the right hand fan and a red surround around the one which can go passive in low load scenarios. Both have a gorgeous vented backplate with the MSI Dragon logo in polished black against the matte black main colour. Heck both take 8 pin PCIe power inputs.

In short, they look spectacular. As easy on the eye as all the current MSI Gaming range are, and it shows the versatility of the Twin Frozr cooler. To those of you desperately seeking the differences the only two we can spot are a tiny cut-out of the backplate by the bottom left of the RX 480, or perhaps a tiny fill-in on the bottom left of the GTX 1060, and minor differences in the heatpipe looks on the front side.

Whichever you purchase you can be sure of getting a great looking card.
