Test Setup

As with any of our testing we always want to be able to compare results as like for like as possible. For the RX 5700 XT that means testing on our current GPU rig which doesn’t utilise PCI Express 4.0. However, given the performance of these new Radeon cards we don’t think the already fat PCI Express 3.0 bandwidth particularly influences the results in a negative manner.

Overclocking

The Red Devil comes out of the box with a beefy overclock in place already so there isn’t a lot of headroom left to push it a little further. Obviously each GPU is individual and PowerColor go with something guaranteed to work on all their silicon so we could still stretch the overclock until the GPU cried enough, and then backed off until it was stable.
