PowerColor Red Devil RX 9070 XT Spectral White Review
Up Close
Up Close
Our PowerColor Red Devil RX 9070 XT Spectral White is the Limited Edition. This means we get lots of cool extras. We like that the box shows off the end of the card. Give it the horns.
Who doesn’t love the ability to pore over the details? We know we’re not the only ones who get products in our hands before we’ve the time to fully use them. Now games no longer come with manuals we turn to the PowerColor Spectral White to read whilst we impatiently wait for enough free time to get cracking. It also means those of you who are keen on the fine details can peer intently at your screen and learn a little.
Within the box we get the card, obviously, but also a lot of extra doohickeys. There is a replica graphics card keycap. A card holder and removal tool. Some stickers and cards, and the addressable RGB cable that lets you plug the card into your lighting ecosystem. Those of us who find new products to be more fun when there is some theatre to the box are well catered for.
Spectral White
The PowerColor Red Devil RX 9070 XT Spectral White (phew) looks very similar to the Hellhound we’ve recently reviewed. It’s incredible how much of an effort PowerColor have gone to. The card screams quality and attention to detail. Get the little things right and the big things are sure to good too.
We like the Red Devil logo built into the backplate. We’re also fans of the white on white AMD Radeon branding. Stealthy.
One of the things we spoke about at length with the Hellhound is the attention to detail on the Spectral White cards, and the Red Devil is no exception. White PCB, white plastics, white cables, white heatsink. It’s such things that make a mockery of other companies claims to do a white edition. When you’ve seen as much hardware as we have it warms our hearts to see someone still doing it properly. This isn’t the black card with a white shroud and fans. This is a dedicated white card and all the better for it.
Connections
Being the high performance model in the PowerColor range, the Red Devil RX 9070 XT Spectral White has three 8pin PCIe power connectors.
Lastly around the back we have the usual four output options found on all graphics cards these days. Three DisplayPort 2.1a connectors sit alongside a single HDMI 2.1b.
