PowerColor R9 295X2 Review

PowerColor R9 295X2 Review

4K Gaming

The big test is how realistic this 4K display idea is. Naturally we aren’t tripping over 4K displays in the office, so our comparison is how much extra performance a 295X2 has over a regular 290X, and whether the average frame rate in the end is something that you could live with.

In short, most of the titles aren’t greatly playable, especially if you’re a PC gamer used to the joys of 60FPS rather than the console 30FPS, but only Crysis 3 and Metro : Last Light end up being slide shows. Otherwise the 295X2 makes a good fist of providing a playable experience, although for a card costing north of a grand we’d expect it to.
