XFX RX 9060 XT Swift OC White Edition Review

Conclusion

We’ve already seen the performance available to us from the black XFX card. The vanilla one if you will. Naturally seeing how crazy fast that was, relative to it’s pricing, we were eager to test out the OC version of XFX RX 9060 XT Swift. And not just because it’s white.

Undoubtedly our hopes were further heightened when we ran our clock speed benchmarking. With an average of 2991.5 MHz, and a peak of 3098, there is no denying the Swift OC had all the potential to smash the black card out of the park. For reasons we don’t fully understand that wasn’t quite the case. It probably shows how you can’t just take clock speed as the be all and end all of your performance influencer. Beyond that specific thing, both the Swift and Swift OC are near identical. There is no doubt that, as a general rule, the black card was a teensy bit quicker than this white one in most tests.

It is, as always, important to note a couple of things at this point. Firstly we’re on a launch BIOS and pre-launch drivers. These always come with the caveat that performance will quickly become more stable, and probably faster, as things mature. The problem with needing to test before products hit shelves always mean we’re fighting against issues that didn’t crop up on a companies internal tests. In just the same way that AMD are probably already hearing about issues that those of us who had pre-release reviews didn’t spot. Secondly the Swift OC White Edition is by no means a bad performer. Heck it’s not even only average against the competition. Merely that when you see 3 GHz average we had expectations it didn’t quite meet. It’s still good, and the only white one we have on hand.

Performance aside the XFX RX 9060 XT Swift OC White Edition is all we’ve come to expect from XFX. It’s designed well with a high level of attention to detail and a robust build quality. The cooler works excellently, keeping the card frosty even under the most trying tests, and without ever being injurious to the ear. All of which mean it wins our OC3D Gamers Choice Award.
